Bufotenine Changa :)
Bufotenine changa is in my opinion the easiest and best way to smoke Bufotenine. I only recently discovered that unlike dmt, Bufotenine can easily be rolled into a joint and smoked. I got myself a nice rizla cigarette roller and I roll myself a Bufotenine joint at least once a week. I don't overdo it. It is a little harsh on the lungs but quite manageable. I prefer smoking it this way over a bong or a pipe. It is important to note that the body load comes on very quick. After the 3rd puff it you can feel the typical needle sensations running up your neck and into your skull and it feels like your blood turns to concrete. This is quite a scary feeling at first if you are not used to it, but its normal. It is not really part of the trip and only lasts a few short minutes. Do not panic and do not stop at the 3rd puff. It is important to finish the joint. Then lay down and enjoy the visuals. I usually have the lights off with some movie playing on the TV. The visuals and the auditory hallucinations are very intense. I’m always in awe. The come down is also very pleasant and leaves me with a nice afterglow. The effects are typically 30 to 35 min's with a long afterglow.
I guess any herb can be used to make your changa, but I prefer Wild Dagga or Klip Dagga. It has potentiating effects of its own and somewhat breaks the taste of the Bufotenine. Use whatever you prefer...peppermint leave, caapi, parsley whatever.
This changa mix will consist of freebased Bufotenine, freebased Syrian rue extract and klipdagga. First you will need to extract and freebase the Bufotenine and the Syrian rue, Combine the extracts and soak it up in klipdagga and then evaporate off the solvent. Once it is completely dry and free of solvent, it is ready to use. Store the changa in an airtight container away from direct light. Syrian rue is not necessarily required but it greatly enhances the effects and adds a little spice to the trip.
Extracting and freebasing Syrian rue:
* Take a 100 g of Syrian rue seeds and grind it up in a coffee grinder. Do not overfill the grinder. Do a little at a time until the entire 100g is ground up.
* Add an equal volume of Sodium carbonate to the Syrian Rue
* Add just enough water to make it a thick paste. Mix it thoroughly and let it stand for 2 hours. You should be able to smell ammonia from the freebasing.
* Dry the paste at the lowest oven temperature and crumble it to a fine powder.
* Add this powder to 100 ml of acetone. Shake it vigorously every few minutes until all the freebase alkaloids are soaked up in the acetone. Filter and discard the solids. Keep the acetone
* Set it aside for now. We will use this later.
Next step is to extract and freebase the Bufotenine from cebil seed.

Here’s what’s needed:
* Acetone: available at most hardware stores. It’s best to use distilled acetone that you distilled yourself if you’re at all worried about contaminants. KleanStrip acetone is pure acetone and 100.0 % volatile according to their MSDS, so there will be no residue left behind after evaporating it. SWIM uses this brand, always distils it, and never finds any left over residue. It seems to be very clean.
* Sodium Carbonate: The original tek calls for Pickling lime (Calcium Hydroxide). I decided not to use it because it often destroys Bufotenine. If you cannot find Sodium Carbonate you can make your own by baking Sodium Bi-Carbonate in the oven at 300F for 2.5 hours. Just spread it out evenly in a shallow oven dish and bake it. It will convert to Sodium Carbonate. Store it in an airtight container. It is hygroscopic and will draw moisture from the air and convert back to bi-carbonate.
* Citric acid: available as “sour salt” in some grocery stores. It’s often used in canning. It’s available from many health food or vitamin shops. This is found naturally in fruit.
* Filtering system: coffee filters aren’t that good but will work. For best filtering results it’s better to use a lab filtering system (glass micro-fiber filters, a vacuum pump, and a filtering flask, Buchner funnel, etc.) I just used coffee filters and it worked fine.
Here's the extraction steps:
1) Prepare citric acid solution by adding 1 gram of citric acid to 10 ml of acetone. We’ll use it later so put this aside, go onto step 2, but mix the citric acid solution occasionally. It will eventually all dissolve after about an hour or so.
2) Mix 100 grams of crushed Anadenanthera seeds (either peregrina or colubrina works) with and equal volume of Sodium Carbonate and add enough water to form a paste. Let it sit for about 1 hour, mixing it a few times. Dry it completely in an oven at 150 F.
3) Break apart the dried material. Add 500 ml of acetone. Mix for about 5 minutes. Let the dry material settle to the bottom. The acetone should be reddish amber in color. Pour the acetone through a good quality filter. I found 500 ml is not enough and added it a little extra.
4) Add 10 ml of citric acid solution (from step 1) to the filtered acetone and mix. I was amazed. The Bufotenine crashed immediately. it looked like yellow mustard crashing out of the solution as I started adding the Citric acid solution. Let the crystals settle to the bottom. Poor off the acetone, being careful not to pour off the crystals. Discard the acetone. Wash the crystals by adding 100 ml of fresh acetone, mix, let the crystals settle, and then carefully pour off the acetone and discard it (EDIT: you might want to let the acetone evaporate down to about 50 ml before discarding, as more precipitates might form. Keep in mind that a small amount of the alkaloids won’t precipitate out of the acetone. A small portion of this contains the tiny amount of DMT present in the seeds. If you save the acetone, you could extract the last bit of alkaloids using an A/B extraction, but It’s not really worth the trouble). Let all the acetone evaporate off the crystals. They’ll start absorbing water from the air and become dark brown goo once all the acetone has evaporated.
5) Mix the crystal goo with an equal volume of Sodium Carbonate. Add enough water to form a thin watery paste. Let it sit for about 1 hour while mixing a few times. This will again freebase the Bufotenine. Dry in an oven at 150 F.
6) Break apart the dried material. Dissolve in 100 ml acetone for about 5 minutes, mixing a few times. Filter off the pickling time. Evaporate the acetone leaving behind 5-HO-DMT freebase as a single solid mass of amber micro-crystals (and a few other active freebase alkaloids). It looks like amber candy, not crystals. It’s very difficult to form large crystals, so don’t bother. Just scrape it up and store in an air tight container away from light. To speed the process up I dry it at a low oven temperature before the Bufotenine gets the chance to extract moisture from the air. You don't want this. It becomes a sticky mess.
Combining the extracts:
1) Take the acetone solution with the Syrian rue extract and add the freebase Bufotenine powder to it. Add a little more acetone if needed. Keep shaking it every few minutes over a 2 hour period.
2) Weigh out 8 grams of dried klip dagga or peppermint leaf and remove any twigs from it. Rub it to a fine powder between your palms.
3) Place the klip dagga or peppermint leaf in a small Pyrex dish and stir in the 100 ml of combined extract.
4) Place the dish under a fan overnight until it is completely crisp and dry. If there is the slightest acetone smell present it is not dry. I usually keep it under the fan for at least another day.
When you are satisfied that your Bufotenine changa is completely dry and free from acetone you can pack it in a small plastic container. The 8 grams of Klipdagga should now weigh around 12 grams. This is enough to keep you and your friends busy for a while. Just roll a joint with it and enjoy. I use around 350 mg of changa in a joint. Bufotenine joints are just awesome!
